Continental scores its ninth success as most popular tire brand
Premium tire brand from Hanover finishes well ahead of the field
Continental has again been voted most popular tire brand in this year’s edition of car magazine Autozeitung’s “Top Brands” competition. This was the ninth time in succession that the Continental brand had secured pole position among tire manufacturers. Of the 12,500 readers who voted, 47.9 percent or almost one in two opted for Continental, while the second placed brand recorded just 29.2 percent of the votes cast. Autozeitung had invited its readers to elect their top brands for 2017 back in the fall of last year. Readers were asked to select from an international brand line-up in nine different car-related categories.
“We are delighted at the trust that Autozeitung readers place in our premium brand and our premium products,” said Frank Jung, Head of Marketing and Sales PLT Tires for Germany, Austria and Switzerland at Continental, commenting on the vote. “Along with the outstanding results that our summer and winter tires have scored for many years now in the Autozeitung tests, another factor that was surely reflected in this very positive outcome was our very strong market presence in Europe, where we provide original equipment tires for approximately one third of all new cars. Autozeitung always explicitly names the tire manufacturer in all of its road tests, added to which, a large proportion of readers were doubtless also influenced in their choice by their own personal experience of our products.”
